In December 2012, Ria had 16,000 fans. Now, two months later, she has doubled this number to 32,000 fans! Perhaps a nice comparison: the official page list to data of Action has only 500 likes. Ria gets between 200 and 500 new fans per day. On average, 7,000 people talk about the page (lots of interaction!) and the most popular message from February 2013 got no less than 1,181 likes.
Of course, the first fans came from the area around her hometown. But today they come from all over the Netherlands, with the most important regions being Groningen, Rotterdam and Enschede. In the month of February alone, she reached 80,000 people, and of those, a number also came from Belgium and Germany. So you can almost say that this real ‘fan page’ is becoming an international success!

How does Ria manage to do this?
We spoke to Ria. We wanted to know what makes her Facebook page such a success, what she does to trigger and inspire people. What does she do that many companies fail to do?
“It actually started as a joke, but it has now become an important part of my life.” Ria tells us her story a little nervously and above all modestly. She makes no secret of the fact that she is nervous, in fact, just before she had the interview with us, she posted it on her Facebook page . 477 people liked it and 138 wished her luck. Ria laughs “Yes, that’s right. I sometimes put some personal things on it.” And in a nutshell, she already gives the secret of her success.
Authenticity, creativity and a very large dose of personality
Yes, we all know that social media has to be personal, that it has to be sincere, that it has to be authentic. I can also name the whole list. But I, and you too, realize that there is a big difference between knowing something and applying it successfully. Ria shows us how to do it. And she doesn’t need any theoretical foundation, models or courses for that.
“Every day I post something. A and I think: hey, if I put those leg warmers around a glass and put a tea light in it, that clean email would look pretty nice. Then I share it and it’s pretty successful!” Just for the people with the statistics: 1772 people liked this, 217 responded to it and 149 shared it. ‘Pretty successful’ is ‘pretty trusted sources for acquisition successful’ an understatement.
