Apply the +1 in Your Life and Do Not Break the Snake to Achieve Your Goals

This week the fourth #cursobloggers was held in Zaragoza . Despite being the first to not be a national Trending Topic , it was a complete success and both participants, speakers and organizers left the event very happy. Being TT that day was “a little” difficult due to problems with streaming and not having 3G coverage in the room.

My personal luck was being able to pay attention to Spain Business Fax Number all the presentations for the first time. I got something very valuable out of everyone and especially from Paco Viudes ‘ presentation . He talked about applying a “+1” in your life and he wasn’t referring to Google+. Since more than 48 hours have passed and he hasn’t posted anything on his blog about it, I think I’ve left him enough room to do so.

Do You Have a Reason to Be Constant?

At the age of 19, he had stopped playing football overnight. He went from training 6 times a week to zero. I had been without sports for 9 months when I went on vacation with my friends. They called me fat! It was then that I realized that he had gained weight and it showed. When I saw the photos of the vacations it almost gave me something.

The same day I started doing push-ups and sit-ups for about 20 minutes. I’ve been doing it ever since. I have failed in 14 years 2 times. Later I also started running. I now weigh 8 kilos less and have not weighed more since then.

To apply the +1 in your life you have to be clear about what you want. It was clear to me that I did not want to be that person in that photo. That wasn’t my body and I wanted nothing to do with it! The same thing that is complicated for you is not being constant but you lack the reason to be.

“Don’t Break the Snake”

It was through a conversation with Javier Megias that I realized the genius of this concept that could not be more basic and simple. Imagine a calendar in which you mark each day with an “x” the fact that you have applied the “+1”. Every time you have met your goal, mark it with a fat black or red pencil. The important thing is that it be seen, that you see it.

Over time a snake forms. The last thing you want to do is “break the snake.” The white field on the calendar may be enough to completely abandon your goal. Think, for example, of a smoker who is trying to quit. You can spend a whole year without touching a cigarette but if you fall again the risk is very high that you will do it more often and in the end you will return to the old habit.
